Dr. Sheila M Amar

Sheila M. Amar M.D., FAAAAI, FACAAI

Dr. Amar specializes in adult and pediatric allergy and is certified by both the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Amar grew up in Central Texas. She received her undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in Spanish and Biology. She received her doctorate degree at Baylor College of Medicine where she also completed her Internal Medicine residency. She completed her Allergy and Immunology fellowship at the prestigious National Jewish Health/University of Colorado Denver program. Her father, N. J. Amar M.D., is a well-known allergist in Waco, Texas.

Dr. Amar is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (FAAAAI) and a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (FACAAI). She also serves on the "Ask the Allergist" panel for weather.com and is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Texas A&M Health Science Center.

Dr. Sheila M. Amar has been selected to the Super Doctors® Rising StarsSM list published in Texas Monthly in 2012, 2013 and 2014 .


Dr. Kim T Hovanky

Kim T. Hovanky M.D., FAAAAI, FACP

Specializing in adult and pediatric allergy, Dr. Hovanky opened the clinic in March 1998. She is certified by both the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Hovanky is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She received her doctorate degree from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock and Amarillo. Dr. Hovanky completed a three-year residency at Texas A&M University/Scott & White Hospital and Clinic in Temple and a two-year fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Hovanky is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (FAAAAI), and a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). She is also Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Texas A&M Health Science Center.
